In the first week of this course, we delve into the best fundamental practices for face yoga. If you’re uncomfortable touching your face, there are hands-free exercises you can use too.
Face yoga will also not irritate your skin since we are working into the muscle and these exercises will not stimulate the skin for any breakouts.
Everyone’s facial muscles are different, so results will vary from person to person. Some start to see results after 2-3 weeks with a healthier glow and long-term improvement in their face and neck. After 2 months, people start to notice fewer fine lines, less tension, and an overall lift to their face.
Results can also vary depending on age, skin, and lifestyle. Everyone can get at least some results if they commit to practicing 5-6 times a week. Consistency plays the biggest role in seeing a smoother, firmer, and healthier face. I have had multiple students see immediate results, and I saw results after 3 weeks!
My approach is therapeutic, complete with gentle and safe exercises, so it should complement other treatments. However, I always recommend you get a professional medical opinion from your physician.
If you've had a facelift, face yoga may reduce the need for further treatment and maintain your results for longer. For Botox or fillers, check with your doctor about how long you should wait before exercising or massaging your face as it depends on what you had injected, how much and where. Once/if you're given the green light to proceed, you may experience some restrictions in facial movement due to previous treatments, so you may have to adapt the exercises accordingly.
I designed this course so that you can watch it whenever and wherever you like, at the time that suits you best. Practice as part of your morning or evening routine… even in your pajamas if you want! There is no judgment here. All of the classes are pre-recorded and available on demand, so you never miss a class.
It’s only natural to be skeptical, I was at first too! And like you, I had never done face yoga before, but I was curious because I saw other women and heard their incredible stories. Trying something new can be a bit scary sometimes, but you’ll never know if you don’t try.
Face yoga isn’t invasive in any way, and so many women (me included!) enjoy the practice itself as a form of self-care, and the results are a bonus. I’ve seen incredible results, and I’m almost 50 — and if I see results, so can you.
Once a day 5-6 days a week is recommended, but it would cause no harm if you decided to do another session later in the day.
When face yoga is done correctly, you aren’t causing or creating any new or unwanted wrinkles. The facial exercises are done in a slow and controlled way ensuring all three layers of skin and muscles are in union with each other.
You are also encouraged to do your sessions in front of the mirror so that no part of the skin is creasing during the session. The exercises focus on resistance, creating the muscles to lift and promoting a firmer, more youthful-looking face while reducing wrinkles. The massage techniques are gentle and you will not pull or drag the skin, which could cause wrinkles.
